Also, congratulations are in order for E.C. Glass yesterday. Not only, did the Hilltoppers win in both soccer games. They also won the sectional lacrosse final over Patrick Henry in overtime, 8-7. Bruce Carrington scored the game winner in overtime. E.C. Glass will host North Stafford on Saturday at 6:00 in a state quarterfinal. Eddie Ranuska was also named sectional coach of the year.

E.C. Glass swept the singles and doubles titles in boys and girls tennis for Region III. Congratulations to Julie Clark (Girls Singles Champion) and Scottie Taylor (Boys Singles Champion, who defeated fellow Hilltopper  Wistar Nelligan in the finals). In the doubles, Mitchell Swann and Thatcher Jennings won the doubles title, while Paige Riley and Sidney Moon captured the girls doubles title. E.C. Glass Boys and Girls Tennis will both host state quarterfinals on Monday. The girls tennis team will host Blacksburg and the Boys Tennis team will host Hidden Valley both at 1:00 on Monday.

High School Tournament Play

The Dogwood District Baseball Tournament will take place Monday, Wednesday & Friday at higher seeds. Monday's matchups include
(5) Dan River at (4) Altavista
(6) Gretna at (3) William Campbell
(7) Nelson County at (2) Chatham
(1) Appomattox will play the winner of Dan River & Altavista on Wednesday, with the winners of William Campbell-Gretna & Chatham-Nelson County matching up on Wednesday

The Seminole District Baseball Tournament also takes place  Monday, Wednesday & Friday. Monday's matchups are as follows
(7) Heritage at (2) E.C. Glass
(6) Liberty at (3) Amherst
(5) Rustburg at (4) Brookville
(1) Jefferson Forest plays Rustburg-Brookville winner on Wednesday at Heritage High School in the Semifinals. The winner of Heritage-E.C. Glass matches up with Liberty-Amherst winner in the other semifinal

The Seminole District Boys Soccer Tournament also runs Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Monday's Quarterfinal matchups are as follows
(7) Heritage at (2) E.C. Glass (at City Stadium)
(6) Liberty at (3) Brookville
(5) Rustburg at (4) Amherst
(1) Jefferson Forest will play Rustburg-Amherst winner at 5:00 on Wednesday at City Stadium with the winners of the other two games meeting at 7:00 at City Stadium.

The Seminole District Softball Tournament is Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Monday's quarterfinals look like this. The games are at 7:00 with the exception of the JF-Liberty matchup. That will start at 6.

(1) Brookville meets the winner of Jefferson Forest-Liberty on Wednesday. Tournament semifinals and championship are at Liberty High School.

Seminole District Girls Soccer Tournament is also Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Consolation game would be Thursday at Jefferson Forest & the Championship would be Friday at City Stadium. All games on Monday are at 5:00. JF & E.C. Glass tied for the number 1 seed. A coin flip was done to determine who would get the bye, however according to E.C. Glass head coach Darien McClurg, whoever goes farther in the district tournament, earns the automatic (#1 Seminole Seed) in the Region Tournament.
